Greetings Theatre Artists,

Rain may feel appropriate for today given that it's the anniversary of the Boston Marathon tragedy that shocked our city.  Last year at this time we didn't know how bad it was yet.  But our emergency workers, police force, emts, fire fighters and hospital workers, volunteers and good samaritans went above and beyond to ensure that every victim brought to the hospitals still breathing would leave those doors still alive.  Along with the rest of the city, I still mourn the loss of three innocent lives that day, while being amazed at how many lives were saved.

In the days following, we were all affected directly or indirectly by the aftermath, especially the manhunt.  And as social media became waves of posts of concern or "Don't worry, I'm still safe",  I was proud of the community of it all.  While Boston may get a reputation for our hard heads or our brash mouths, it is also a region of people with giant hearts.  I'm proud of how everyone stood up to face this horror.  I love this city (by which I mean the whole greater metropolitan area).  And I deeply thank you all for being a part of it.

It's the best time to be working in Boston Theatre!

Rock On,
Tim Hoover
